Is there a device that I can buy for older computers so I can have a wireless connection?
I have a wireless router but my computer is a 2002 Dell and might not have the wireless support. Where can I get this device and what is the price range.
A USB or PCI network card will set you back between $15 and $40 dollars US. You probably want the $40 one.
There is another device called a “wireless Ethernet bridge” which receives wireless, then translates to regular old Ethernet. You plug it in to your regular LAN port, The nice thing about a beiudge is that it has all of the firmware and software it needs built right in to the device. It will work on any OS that can handle regular Ethernet (So all of them since about 1993). They are a bit more expensive ($60 – $100) but it WILL work. Period. And they have the added bonus of being not physically connected to the client machine except by wire, so you can move your connection closer to the router, even if you cant move the computer itself.
